Association des Amis de Marc Chagall

The mission of the Association des Amis de Marc Chagall, founded in 2019, is to build an official Marc Chagall catalogue raisonné. This online scientific project takes stock of the artist’s works created between 1906 and 1985, resulting in an exhaustive panorama of his body of work, in collaboration with the Marc Chagall Committee and the Marc and Ida Chagall Archive.

The Association des Amis de Marc Chagall also manages the Marc and Ida Chagall Archive, which has been made available by Marc Chagall’s estate. The archives are a collection of reference documents, made up of several thousand letters, documents, and photographs. The mission of the Archive is to:

• help Marc Chagall’s work become more widely known
• build the catalogue raisonné
• provide open access to scientific and artistic researchers upon request.
